I saw it when it first came out and here it is, sixteen (can it be?) years later and having seen probably everything that. One of the chief delights of Babe , indee is that it is such a clever little pig movie. It is rated G, and yet all of the people and most of the animals in Babe are smarter and more articulate than the characters in most of the R-rated movies I see. In this case babe really came through all the way to the end.

BABE is winsome and heartwarming because it is created with care and tenderness.

Regrettably, BABE contains a few mild vulgarities. On the other han it has many moments of purity and pleasure that will compel its viewers to love their neighbors. This movie not only deserved the nomination, but was a close, close second out of the five nominees in my book ( Braveheart rightfully won, but I would have had no trouble had Babe won). I love this film because it has a sweet lining, yet tells a deep story about resolve, goodness, and the struggles of life in a very large sense.

Say this movie is all a lie, and that you were indeed a glorious American hero, the grandest of all the boys of summer , and that it was great fun, at least sometimes, to be the most famous baseball hero of all time.
